National Egg Art Registry

The National Egg Art Registry exists to bring attention and recognition to egg artists all over the country who have dedicated their lives to creating these exquisite works of art. Each piece is a testimony to the great skill and talent of eggshell artists everywhere. We intend to maintain a permanent record by which anyone can access a record about any eggshell artist and their eggshell art to ascertain its authenticity and value for purchase at auction or private sale. This is a permanent record dedicated to lives of those individuals who have spent a lifetime creating eggshell art for the world to enjoy. We proudly offer details that include an artists egg art biography and personal messages to future generations of collectors. It is our hope that you will continue to use this as a resource and a record of the heritage and history of eggshell art for future generations.

National Egg Art Registry History:

The National Egg Art Registry was founded in January of 2009 by Alan W. Rabon in response to hearing of two eggshell artists who had recently passed away. He asked himself, "What happens to all the eggshell art that these artists have created in their lifetime?" The answer was sobering. Alan was informed that what wasn't given to family members and friends often ended up in flea markets and garage sales around the country. Alan considered the loss of this artwork a devastating blow to the egg art world. In an effort to preserve the heritage and history of each egg artists' contribution to the artform he decided to create a registry by which anyone anywhere could log on and read about an egg artists' biography and see examples of their work as well as how to identify a particular eggshell artists' art work. This record would be used by collectors and appraisers alike to identify individual egg artists and the year a piece was created. After the forming of the National Egg Art Registry Alan intends in 2010 to submit the website to the Smithsonian Museum of American Art History and/or the Library of Congress for their permanent records.
